Stress Relief Tool – Email Purge

Hundreds or thousands of unread emails stressing you out? Give this a try to take back control of your inbox.

If you get a ton of email at work (who doesn’t?), rather than going through the deluge of hundreds or thousands of messages after returning from a one-week plus vacation, consider just deleting everything WITHOUT looking at it. If it is really important, then the sender will follow up with you. In most cases, the situation will have already rectified itself or it wasn’t important enough for you to attend to.

This also applies if you haven’t been on vacation, but you have been too busy to get to all your email for weeks or months. This will give you the freedom to start fresh and eliminate the stress associated with feeling overwhelmed with all those old emails.

So when your unread email is more than 100 and you are worried about where you will find the time to read each message, do the following for instant stress relief:

  1. Click on the first unread message.
  2. Hold the shift key down and click on the last unread message.
  3. Press the delete key.
  4. Take one deep breath and get on with your day.
